The Walks
Rob designs circular routes of varying lengths which take in the outstanding landscape surrounding Scar Side Farm. They allow for a relaxed pace with plenty of time for stops of interest to take in the scenes, the architectural and local history. Including the opportunity to enjoy flora and wildlife.
Walking over the Limestone Pavement you will hear about the pre historic landscape, which is riddled with features from the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages. Rob will be pleased to point out any wildlife, in particular the bird life, it's not uncommon to see Black Grouse, Golden Plovers, Ravens, Buzzards and the occasional Peregrine.
We are extremely fortunate to be within walking distance of such gorgeous scenery and in particular Sun Biggin Tarn and The Crosby Ravensworth Fell are examples of the unspoilt areas of outstanding beauty, peace and tranquility we have at our door step.
The walks are aimed at the capabilities of a reasonably fit individual, all you will need is a pair of comfortable boots, a day sack for your packed lunch, waterproofs and hat and gloves. A camera will enable to you to capture some of the outstanding scenes you will witness along the walk. All walks are circular and have a suitable stop for a lunch break before returning to Scar Side for tea/coffee or an evening meal.
All inclusive walking break deals are available with welcome drinks, dinner, bed and breakfast and packed lunches.
