Our self catering accomodation at Scar Side farm is located in an idyllic picturesque setting, it can be found at the end of a tranquil lane tucked under Orton Scar. The cottage overlooks both the Howgills and the eastern Lakeland fells, and forms part of a traditional Westmorland Longhouse. The owners Dave and Elaine live on site in the farmhouse.  

The cottage is furnished to a high standard and comprises of a king, double and single sized bedrooms. There is a good sized bathroom with a deep bath and shower facility.

The lounge and kitchen area are open plan. You can relax in the comfortable surroundings of the lounge area and enjoy the wood burning fire. There are washing and drying facilities in the attached utility room.

The cottage has a private walled garden and patio area, from which you can enjoy the panoramic and glorious views of the nearby fells. The farmhouse is situated directly on Wainwrights famous coast to coast walk.

We have safe outdoor parking space for several cars.
We have outbuildings that are dry and secure for cycles or motorbikes, we also offer a power wash facility if you want to clean your choice of two wheels prior to it being stored.
